BRINGING OUR ECONOMY BACK
Over the past few years, it's gotten a whole lot more expensive to be a Michigander. With rising costs and higher taxes, it seems like your dollar just doesn't go as far as it used to.
As State Rep, Hermon Barbe will get to work bringing costs down for Michigan families, cutting bureaucratic red tape, getting rid of the Michigan State Payroll Tax for small businesses, and fighting to revise the Michigan Property Tax and Income Tax.

Democrats ran on a promise to fix the (damn) roads... yet nearly a decade later, our infrastructure is still in shambles. The only time we see real action on our roads is leading up to an election year, when politicians want to show how "good" of a job they're doing.
As State Representative, Hermon Barbe will put forward solutions to build roads that last longer, require less maintenance, and cost taxpayers less money each year. It's time for Michigan's leadership to do their jobs and provide infrastructure Michiganders can count on.
BUILDING MICHIGAN'S FUTURE
Right now, as you're reading this, Michigan ranks 44th in literacy among fourth grade students. Just a decade ago, we were in the top 25. To put it another way, our kids aren't failing school, our schools are failing our kids. As a father, the need for high quality education for Michigan's kids is an issue that hits especially close to home.
As your State Representative, Hermon Barbe will work with our Michigan Board of Education to create new standards that increase childhood literacy, (such as establishing a new, phonics-based curriculum within our schools, a method which has seen success in other states. Additionally, Hermon will vote for transparency regarding school funds, and will vote to cut waste, fraud, and abuse.
Throwing more money at a problem doesn't make it go away, despite what Democrats might tell you, but figuring out where it's being spent helps us spend it better!
ENDING THE PAIN AT THE PUMP
Lately, we've all been hearing a lot of talk about the price of gasoline. Michigan's absurdly high, borderline extortive gas tax doesn't help- nearly 20% of what you pay in gas is Michigan taxes- for every $50 you put in your tank, $10 goes directly to the Democrats' wild taxes on gas.

The gas tax doesn't just affect you at the pump, it also affects you at the grocery store. High gas taxes also impact shipping companies and truckers. What does this mean? It means your grocery costs are HIGHER than they need to be, all because we're slapping unnecessary taxes on gas.

It's time for Michigan to stop gouging its residents on each gallon- Hermon Barbe will push to cut gas taxes to save you money in the tank, keeping more in the bank.

Hermon has been a resident of West Bloomfield for over a decade. He is an active father, loving husband, and constitutional-conservative American. Having been born & raised in Michigan, Hermon graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School in 1999. He attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, and graduated w/ Bachelor of the Arts degree in Organizational Communications. Over the past two decades, Hermon established a thriving career working in real estate and home finance. Over 20+ years of success and hard work in the private sector as a Solution Consultant & Presidents' Club Mortgage Banker have proven Hermon knows how to get things done!
